Todd has a personal connection to the issue of drunk driving. When he was just a child, both his mother and sister were taken away from him by a drunk driver.

Todd created the Kares Foundation as a way to honor their memory and raise awareness of the real-life impact that this phenomenon has. Todd has made it his mission to reach as many people as possible, traveling across the U.S. to share his stories and the effects of drunk driving at schools, churches, victim impact panels, and other events.
